  • Heavy snow
  • Moderate S/SE wind
  • Temperature 0.3C
  • Dew Point -1.2

A memorable cold spell this has been. Several snow events, one lasting 22 hours albeit light.... but persistant nonetheless! Severe night time frosts with a minumum of -13.2 here in Haverhill. Days on end where temperature's never rose above freezing point.... often well below.

Just driven back from Harlow to Elsenham via sawbridgeworth and Stortford. Sleet when I left Harlow, melting the existing snow cover there. Similar story all the way through until bishops Stortford, where the sleet became snow, and was beginning to settle on very wet surfaces. Back here in Elsenham, heavy driving snow and beginning to settle

Intensity will determine the precipitation type, but once you've seen enough evaporative cooling to turn things to snow, it should stay as snow until the very back edge

Mind you, given how wet the surfaces were underneath, I'm not holding much hope for too much in the way if accumulation when I wake up in the morning

VERY heavy snowfall here!

Yep, chucking it down with massive snowflakes. Just shows how marginal tonight's snow is.

Central-eastern MK.

I've got snow out the front facing north, and rain in the back garden facing south. Bonkers!

Can't make up it's mind what it wants to do.

Back to snow here. Still not expecting much though unless the radar changes. The weakening of the front has been the real spoiler tonight rather than the temps.

Huge 50p flakes now. I think the radar is telling us porkies. Very odd how no precipitation is managing to get into Norfolk!

Don't be jealous, remember when their snow has melted they still have to live there.
