Today's southern Welsh snow is a prime example of why you shouldn't necessarily trust the weather forecast, even 12 hours ahead in this kind of weather setup. The weather has a habit of springing surprises - even the high res NAE forecast didn't manage to come up with this lot. :)

Still coming down fast, temp is 0.6c

Derek's forecast yesterday around 230 pm was way out before midnight !

All the technology ! All the information ! man on the moon 44 years ago ! the wright brothers , graham alexander bell ( possibly disputed ) ,albert einstein , islamabard kingdom brunel ! even stephen hawkings human machine vocal interface .... No one , not one of you , can predict the exact actions of Mother Nature !

God it will be a sad day when everything can be predicted .

Extremely difficult conditions here and up around Crymych, Maenchlohog and MynachlogDdu. Many areas which are outside of the 'yellow' warning area issued by the MetOffice. I'm sure that the intensity warrants an amber warning. Even the yellow warning came late and hasn't really given schools the opportunity to make early decisions about closing.

I do agree that the warnings were poor today, what with disruptive snowfalls in Swansea, Llanelli, parts of Pembrokeshire and west Ceredigion.

Had very fine snow here now for a good 45 minutes settling on grass and ground and roofs all be it very minute as the flakes are so small, if we can tap into heavier stuff then its game on here in the Amman Valley also, as the temp is now 0. degrees with a dewpoint of -1.7

Any 1 know how long this in the valley is in for

Quite a while from looking at the radar ........

Back to the fine flakes again here, coming down fast. Temp now at 0.4c (highest today has been 0.7c at lunchtime and even then the snow was still settling/pitching/sticking/laying/whatever!). :)
