I fear rather than clear away it will flood for some .. sad.png

I think this is the next concern for some SW areas, worth keeping an eye over the weekend. :good:

Just making the most of the flakes falling now. It's the last of this cold spell, and you never know when it will happen again living in the uk. Here's to the next cold spell. Bye for now

Well that was the biggest disappointment of the year so far! No snow what so ever here in Wells. Yet the mendips and all around, got pasted.

So when's the next cold spell due?!

As has been said, make the most of today's snow as the GFS is balls for anything remotely seasonal beyond Friday - in fact the current GFS run even shows something springlike in FI haha! We best hope that the energy that miraculously appeared just out of Canada can equally miraculously disappear somewhere over Scandinavia to bring in the next wintry spell.

Another cold spell (colder than the current one) with the same amount of snow and this winter can be saved I think. Still February and the first third of March to go, after that any cold spell is unusual.

No it's not 😓. Having said that, it's beginning to snow again and the radar shows showers incoming. Not expecting anything tho.

Sowing very heavily here in frome yet much of yesterday deep snow melted overnight but still a good covering. Yesterdays snow was also a classic of what i have been mentioning about rain to snow convesions, fridays snow was much drier although still wet but last nights snow was exceptionally wet, soon as you walked on it left slush footprint, yesterday conversion 1mm rain = 2-3mm snow where as friday was about 1mm rain =8mm snow.

Had last night been drier we would of had around15cms depth, and drier still 25cm but that is rare in uk.

De ember 2010 however was more akin to Europe with the dryness of the snow and you can see how the Europeans manage easier than us with dry snow, wet slush ice snow is very hard to deal with.

Still snowing heavy.slightly drier snow.

Heavy snow here still, perfect mix of big and small flakes! My patio table has 6-7 inches on it now, some left from friday, some from last night. Everything white again after reasonable thaw last 2 days. Sorry to those without, today not over yet!

No more snow overnight, in fact some from last night has already melted. Min overnight has been +1°C, max yesterday was a balmy +3°C!

Just measured my snow depth as per the MetO standard requirement at 9am and we have 120mm level snowcover in spite of some melting also taking place. An interesting couple of days ahead in terms of the slow thawing that will take place for nearly all of us. Hopefully, this is the way things do pan out as we do not really need further flooding caused by a rapid thaw. good.gif

Moderate snow falling here in Barnstaple, nothing laying currently or overnight. Surrounding areas did quite well looking at local news and twitter feeds. Current temp 2c, dew point 0.5c with a little easterly breeze.

Edit : Snow is starting to settle clapping.gif
