The snow rain balance has been restored. Snow has been reported to the north/ East (as expected) West and even further south (this afternoon) and it's raining in brum. Typical. Still 1 month to go at least of possible snow. Even though this has been the best few weeks for snow in years, at least one other cold and snowy spells is needed before it comes close to the 80's.

The front appears to have passed overhead, winds have dropped, no further drifting, rising temperature since 9.00pm now 1.3c and sleeting, snow now wet, fun and games over. In a weeks time, the drifts of snow leftover will be getting their first coating of new February snow!

Deep and drifting no doubt. Always amazes me that Staffordshire, not Cumbria, Wales or the Highlands has the highest village in Britain!

Drifts were over 4 feet this morning in the wind

All roads are blocked so no idea how bad it is now
