Just for a laugh, I popped in my old Penkridge post code into the NW extra 16 day forecasts to get some idea of ppn totals between friday & saturday.......after viewing them I'm now reaching for the prozac.....50+mm and mainly snow looking at the parameters!....Why the bloody hell did I move 'darn sarf' a few months ago?! cray.gif

Forget tissues I think you need a car sponge to wipe them tears away .

that is a negative feeling.....I was born while there were drifts outside.

My feelings are positive as kid in the winter of 81/82 it was the drifts that started me off in "l love snow",

but everybodys to their own, sorry to hear it.

Could have been worse, you could have been born in a drift.

Hmm confusing, the NAE further south west yet the GFS further east at 30hrs which will be a negative.

Nae still not perfect, think areas east and north of stoke looking good now for all snow event, brum 50% probability, reduce by 10% for every 10 miles south of brum, so 0% if 50 miles south of brum.

Apologies looking at 12z, very confusing as top left of chart has 18 hrs. Updated 18z carries threat further sw.

Just 2 days to go until we either see lots of rain or lots of snow. At the moment the rain to snow transition looks to be around the M4 or just North of it. This means that areas from Central London southward look to on the dividing point or slightly more North.

Things will swing around a lot I suspect but this is how it looks AT THE MOMENT. Just noting that the arrows mean which direction the systems are moving.

By the looks of things tommorow night/fridays front will swing to far north and turn to rain whilst Friday nights/Saturdays stalls further south giving them a snow fest and we then end up in the dry zone so snowfests north AND south of here whilst were all green

Thats what their saying in the model thread about the next front stalling across from Bristol to London, NAE is a snowfest so hopefully it has some reliability as its been pretty decent this year.

And the pessimism continues in this thread. Taking model runs very literally there.

C'mon guys, less pessimism and less IMBYism. clapping.gifwallbash.gif

It's Southern talk Conor, and I've seen nothing in the models to suggest that there will be 2 separate systems, It is likely to be one big mess by Saturday lunchtime.

I'm expecting something like November 96 at the moment based on all the data. Obviously time for changes.

Was that any good for these parts Ian?

Certainly was for the North Mids and Southern parts of Northern England.

The frontal system engaged cold air in place and gave 10 hours and 7 inches of level snow here.
