The band is growing and intensifying slightly.

We must have some snowy members, in the N.E of our region, where are they?

Tom.

It might be due to the lateness in the season; it started sleeting here, at 5.2. Then again, it could be due to a layer of colder air lying at an intermediate level?

And then, there was a spell of frozen sleet?

From what the met office had yesterday in the warning, about ice on powerlines, I think you guys are lucky you haven't had freezing rain.

I'm out on a pub crawl! What are the chances of the PPN reaching the South-East? Most models have it fizzling out by the time it gets to us

Completely baffled. Lowestoft has a centimetre or two of snow. Gorleston seafront has lying snow. The entirety of Great Yarmouth has rain help.gif there is ice on most of the cars. I spot a snowshield :(

It's the gradual transition, from rain through sleet and then to snow (and sub-zero temps), that really worries me, alexis...It's not so bad around here (I hope) but, in the Scottish Highlands, we used to get power-cuts whenever snow was preceded by rain or sleet...

I'll just pop that 3rd Round Snow Depth Cup Draw up again, just in case we get some measurable snowfall.

Will have to have a think about the optimum time to measure any snow depths.

I suppose you could put your snow into a tuppaware container and pop it into your freezers.

Think its best if you could P.M. me your depths, otherwise they'll get lost in these fast moving threads

and clutter them up.

Might to be do with the intensity of the precipitation. Lighter in G Yarmouth = rain, heavier down the road in Lowestoft - snow. Just a thought.

Best of luck tonight those in E Anglia and the SE Midlands - looks like the band will fizzle out by the time it reaches London and the southern Home Counties, maybe some light snow to start Sunday morning.

Nope precipitation is the same intensity here as it was when I left lowestoft at half 7, the bus was late due to snow settling on the main roads. I would say this happened in January during the first snow event down here where Great Yarmouth and areas within about a mile of the town saw nothing Yet areas even on the coast a few miles away saw 2 inches.

I hate this place rofl.gif
