Crikey just looked at radar whilst small there's plentiful showers inwards bound and some darker echoes to earlier whilst never going to be epic nice to see

That tasty streamer between Middlesbrough & York appears to be moving readily south with further showers behind it!!! MUCH MORE to come I see!

Could be two hours of constant heavy snow for some areas tonight!

Yeah I've noticed that band too edge steadily southwards. We still have a good covering from last nights snow where the sun didn't reach, currently -1 with dew of -8 brrrrrrrrr

The showers on raintoday around the wash look like there picking up less scatter

Quite heavy snow here which is settling on roads.

Hooray at last got a covering from one of those showers!

Problem is the showers coming inland are moving slowly South down the coast

Look to the North and watch the showers North East of Scotland they are coming straight South

Plenty of showers this evening, mostly brief, but a lengthy one half an hour ago, so all over white again.

Watching the 12.00 rader everything seems to have moved South of the area

Skeggy seems to be getting a good covering atm?

Another line of showers building into Newcastle look as though they will push further South as winds are pushing showers down from the North.

I think with the wind being so strong some of the snow is hitting the ground quite a way from where it is falling out of the clouds.

We've had a few moderate showers here tonight which has given a thin cover again. If it remains at 0900 it'll count as a second day of snow lying by MetOffice standards.

Much less cold this morning, it was up to -0.3 at 4am but has dropped back a bit since.

Will be above freezing soon for sure.

Had another cm overnight taking this cold spell to a mighty 2.5cm. Got a decent shower here currently, some nice big flakes but lacks some ooomph so not likely to amount to much. Looks like I'm in for shower activity over the next few days, whether or not I can get any accumulations is a different story.

This shower has left the best covering of the cold snap so far and its only been snowing moderately for 10 mins. As its 1.1c the snow is more marginal and not blowing around its covered everywhere! Finally!!!

Hammering it down here in Scarborough. Proper snow too. Laying well and a few mega showers heading this way on the radar. Makes up for the dissapointment on missing the bulk of the showers the last couple of days.

Temp has risen to 2.2C with dew point of -6.4C.
