Temps look like they have fallen below freezing now - icicles forming from the meltwater from earlier. Huge temp drops when the showers pass over as well. Shame the shower's don't last more than about 30 secs - they are heavy when they arrive!

Im suprised how readily these showers are getting over the Pennines today.

I'm not really because precipitation amounts are often underestimated around the Greater Manchester area under an easterly flow. We had snow flurries on the weakish easterly flow of Christmas Day 2000 as an example.

Apart from the odd snow patch, nothing's settled in Huddersfield. The north sea showers have been poor.

The Sun is quite strong now, as soon as it comes out it will melt any snow and warm ground for any snow showers that do come along.

Its quite a trek from the N Sea to Huddersfield mate. The showers are always going to lose intensity on the way over.

Tbh we've seen some fairly hefty showers here today for a NE'ly even in W Yorks.!

Quite good today, a lot of heavy showers with near blizzard conditions, sun gets to work quickly though. An ice day.

Out in the car this afternoon and went from +3 to -1 in matter of a minute with one of the showers then back up to +2 a few mins later.

Looks as though clouds are melting away now so apart from a odd flurry I'm not expecting anything overnight.

Might get a few Snow showers tomorrow but I think these might be home grown convection showers with winds being from a more Northerly direction.

To be fair, we did have a couple of decent showers this morning. Brought a nice covering in places.

Its been a mixed bag here too, sunshine and snow showers, no hint of hail or sleet. Very blustery in the showers, on the way to work this morning it was blizzard-like, visibility was dramatically reduced and the wind was so strong - however as many have already mentioned they never lasted more than 5 minutes which is a big shame as everything was settling quickly.
