Up on the Folkestone downs we've currently got around 6cm of level snow, with everything falling on top of that blowing into sizeable drifts. Temp -1.7C and wind gusting to 40mph.

Welcome to Net Weather! I'm near the East Cliff in Folkestone (in town centre at the moment though) I'd say there's a good inch where it's not been swept away in the centre, should be more back home when I get there.

A+ for effort he in Leigh on sea but it just will not settle for more than a minute after heavy burst stops! A month earlier or half a degree colder and we would have had 2-3inches by now and I'm sure PS will support me on that!

East Norfolk seems to be the dry zone. With streamers to the South piling into Essex/Kent and Snow showers driving through the wash and general showery activity further north. Not a good day for me then sad.png

Rain today says it all. We are probably the only coastal location not getting some sort of shower activity.

Not a lot happening here either. Other than the sea spray blasting over the seawall very little to look at.

the only downside to this snow compared to wet snow, it doesnt stick so its not a blanket white as it blows around eg trees etc

this is all very dissapointing so far, started off looking promising this morning and then since about 9am its gone very quiet and the sun almost came out! hoping for something a bit better later that is for sure, what did fall and initially settle seems to have melted somehow, even though the temp is -0.3oc , not sure how that happens?

Edit: Heavy shower lasted about 90 seconds, nice while it lasted.

Easily the heaviest shower here in East Herts / West Essex of today in past few moments. Hasn't lasted more than a few minutes but pretty intense and howling wind. If only several hours of that.

We have a slight dusting again lol in the drifts dare I say a extra few mm covering here in Dartford-needs to keep going so we can work on those stubborn pavements!:-)

Cloud also breaking up now with the sun trying to peep through.

I don't think the sun coming out for a while would actually be a bad thing and should be a positive for convection later as we know that low will move ever so slightly further north.

Above the racing cumulus there seems to be a flat sheet of cloud - is this prefrontal cloud from the channel depression that may be too far south to give much snow to most but too far north that it's front are reducing any convective activity :(

There's a heavy shower going over Gorleston by the looks of it now. Just very light here and the sun has gone in.
