Had a bit more graupel.

I think it's time to give up the chase for any meaningful snow from the current set up. I get the distinct feeling cool/cold by day and night with some sunshine during the day is on the cards for this weekend.

We've missed the main event(s) which occurred last weekend. Be interesting to see how much longer we can eek cold temps for though.

Woke at 6 and there was a thin covering which melted but the grass is turning white again in falling snow/hail.

Yet another March day with falling snow, must be a record?

Desperately need even an average temp now of 10C to enjoy the outdoors, first time I can ever remember not wanting anymore snow/ice.

Day in the Pennines - awesome amounts of snow... 30-50cm level in places where the wind hasn't got to it that much. Drifts of many feet. Still uploading the best ones, but meanwhile.. these were from above Stanhope on the road to Blanchland and on the road between Stanhope and Barny.

I've just seen some pics from a guy I know who went to Harwood today - Teesdale about a mile from the border with Cumbria... about 200m higher than where I was, and it looks amazing. I'm planning to go there over the next few days.

Where we were, my almost 6 yo daughter was up to her waist in level snow!... the drifts from the pics further up from this guy were unreal - roof of a building height!

Isn't it amazing to live in a region where we can see things like this 30 mins away even when there's nowt here at home?
