showers moving in overnight effecting southerly areas first then covering all areas by early morning

fairly gusty south east to south west wind

not cold temps around 5-6 degrees

thursday

south of london

strong and gusty westerly wind and heavy rain

north of the river

lighter winds but still heavy rain

temps around 10 degrees but feeling colder in the rain

thursday night

weak south westerly flow

should stay dry

temps around 5 degrees

watch out for fog around coastal areas

friday

looking like some fairly heavy rain in the south east

moreso south of london and kent but not restricted to them areas

will bring a variable wind north west to north east back to north west

will feel a bit cooler again 7-9 degrees

saturday

looks fairly warm

a southerly flow for us

as we are under high pressure showers will be thin on the ground

temps around 13 degrees

again watch for fog on coastal area am should burn off pm

sunday

a warm south westerly flow

looks dry and warm

temps around 17-19 degrees

lets hope that weather front to our west stays away

same applies re mist and fog early on the coastal areas

cape is increasing and we have the temps and precipitation

to soon to call yet but worth a watch to see if we can get

some decent storms brew on monday

I was just looking at JP's charts above and thought that they were pretty okay, but not too special (the ones he said 'would be nice') as they showed a potential late frost and then realised they've updated since he posted, so are from a later run!

Morning all

A grey and chilly start in Reigate and now in the office in Harefield the grey skies have been gradually lightning until just now there were faint shadows but still full cloud cover. On a summer's day that would probably have carried on until the cloud burnt away and the sun burst properly through. Sadly, though, the shadows have disappeared and the grey has darkened a little. Hopefully the sun is simply reflecting on its first poor effort, girding its loins, taking a couple of energy drinks and listening to motivational music ready for a second attempt to force its way out.

I have just had a cafetiere of very strong coffee which I suspect has contributed to this post going off in a slightly different direction than envisaged when I started it!

Hazy sunshine here too and what a difference to a week ago.

Spring is here because I've started to harden off my tomatoes at last. They had a few days of open kitchen window and now they have 30 mins of being outside and will be outside albeit under cover at night in around the next 10 days or so.

I get my kitchen window sills back.
