The temperature's already above 25 here with unbroken sunshine and very little wind.  Charts show the hottest part of the UK today is likely to be near us with 30-31 deg C predicted here - wouldn't be surprised if 32 is exceeded here for the first time since 2006.

Yep I like the heat because its extreme and unusual. Dec 2010 was extremely cold and people on here wanted it to get colder - same thing!

Just minutes off 26c...

right, yeah, I sort of agree. I hate the in between stuff and prefer extremes of weather

But this is unpleasant IMO, I can't sit outside in this heat so it sort of ruins summer for me during these heatwaves.

Around about 8pm is really nice on days like today, really pleasantly warm to be sitting outside

In heatwaves the best time is always evenings - but that suits me as I have 7 evenings per week to enjoy but only 2 daytimes per week I can use. Would prefer a too hot day to a too chilly evening (like most of the year) anytime!

Like the change of feel to things too - it isn't often in the UK you need to try to keep cool rather than try to keep warm so the contrast in itself is interesting.

Oh my giddy aunt!  It is getting warm now, already 23oC at 09:00 in the shed and the sun had not even come round by that point, now it is just about to hit 26oC

26.2c... still clear & sunny! Cloud will increase in afternoon by looks of it but that won't stop the heat - it'll just keep it in this evening!

GFS 6Z looks amazing for next weekend, hope that trend continues as I want it to be hot and sunny for air tattoo last time it was like that was back in 2006.

Hot unpleasant nothing more to say. Some cloud building up which is a relief when it blots the sun out. Cloud will probably prevent 30C which seemed nailed on at 9.00

24 here

I like nice weather as much as the next man but, to clarify; people actually like this heat and want it to get hotter? Posted Image

It is a bit much but I've got some cool rooms I can retreat to in the house at the moment. In fact, most of my time has been spent outside reading in the shade. For the sake of seeing records tumble, yes I want it to go even higher. Posted Image  Having said that, I would just hope the vulnerable are being looked after. Posted Image

Yes, one that develops by late Afternoon and rumbles into the early hours of the morning would be good. Posted Image

Mostly sunny here, low cloud still trying to invade East anglia, just doesn't give up the North sea. Gloomy on the beach though which is just 200m away from the house

Holed up indoors now where it is considerable cooler, no fans or anything running, just made sure my sun facing windows and doors remained shut over the morning.

29.9oC in the shed right now Posted Image
