Those storms are headng dur north at the moment. Are they due to keep heading that way or will they start getting a more easterly element to their track?Edit: Snap Staffordshire! You must be thinking the same as me with the direction they appear to be heading in! It's no co-incidence we're both from the West Mids and are asking the same question!

yeah just hoping it stays north or perhaps even NNW

ok, here's a quick update on the increasing electrical activity on the western flank on this multicell cluster, note the two screen shots are 25 minutes apart, quite a big increase!

good look everyone.

Schweet! I am off work this week and given my birthday is only a few days away and knowing that we have upcoming storms, I have invested in a GoPro Hero 3 in the hope of getting some good vids.

My God....are they actually surviving the channel? Makes a change. I'm hoping the South West sees something in the next 48 hours as I'm down in Somerset for a week as from tomorrow afternoon.

I'm about 10 miles south of Swindon (50 miles north of the south coast) so I'm charging up the camera and keeping an keen eye on the radar, and hopefully if the storms survive the journey then the camera should be getting some action sometime after midnight! Posted Image

Looks good down south there, here we go.

I'll be making sure my video camera is charged up for the week ahead, could get interesting up here due to convective forcing by the hills.

Any decent webcams for the Dorest area? Used to be a really good one showing Bournemouth pier & out to sea but I can't find it now.

Pretty much like up here then.....not seen a night storm here since 2008.....nor an overhead storm for that matter.....like Cloudwatcher says, we've been waiting a long time up this way.....knowing my luck North East Wales and Cheshire will get corkers while I'm away, whilst I endure Somerset drizzle and muck!
