Following on from the recent period of warm and sunny weather, is it all about to explode in a sound and light show with flooding of biblical proportions??

Temperatures are going up very quickly considering a low of 16.4oC at half 8!

    10:00am - 21oC

    10:30am - 22.3oC

    11:00pm - 23.3oC

    11:30am - 24.0oC

    12:00pm - 25.5oC

Sitting in the garden now and it just feels sooo humid, nice breeze though and pretty clear blue skies which is really nice to see compared to the foggy hazy conditions

Just hit 28C here, I reckon we will get 33C here, somewhere around this corridor might hit 34C later though. BBC has a forecast low of 23C here, that would be warmer than most places in Scotland will be during the day today lol

There is never really a proper breakdown for the south, it looks like staying in the mid-high twenties until the weekend when it becomes a bit unclear. The only difference from the last few weeks will be possibly a few degrees cooler and some thunderstorms about, so not bad really!

I'm not seeing the temp rises other people are reporting, it's only 22.8C outside... Forecast max is 28C, a 5C rise in 3.5 hours? Yeah, right...

Temps 28.5c here, wouldn't be surprised to see it tip 32c.

Haven't had any rain here for 26 days now, last rain we had was the 26th June.

At 12:30, the 30C mark already broken at Heathrow with temps widely 28/29C in the south east corner. 90F should be easy for many inland areas today.

Just 23C here with a light sea breeze

The foul grey blanket mercifully disintegrated here about 10am, plus we got rid of that horrible cold wind (from the south of all directions!).

Just need the temperatures to shoot up now.

Let me tell you that if this breaks down tomorrow I won't complain, it really has been a legendary July.

Just hope we see this sort of weather return in August.

Don't think the cloud will clear at all today. Not even a hint of blue sky. What a pile of crap. Unbelievable temperature contrast across the country.

I've never understood this fascination with thunderstorms, personally I hate them! Sitting there wondering when the power cut will happen or whether some large hail will trash the roof.

You do get a lot of storms here over the Pyrenees but thankfully most of the time they just stay there, the only time I've ever really thought wow was a strange event a few years back, there was some major storms on the southern side of the mountains during the night, but there was no cloud on the northern side, the light show was amazing as each burst lit up the mountains with the strangest light I've ever seen. I only enjoyed that because the storms were stuck to the south, other than that I'm happy to never see one.

Given the cape values it looks like there could be some wild weather over the next few days so for those lightning fanatics in the UK I'm sure there'll be lots to watch! But as ever they can be a bit hit and miss, so some places may well wonder what all the fuss is about.

The relentless blanket of high cloud has managed to finally clear off and the temperature is responding accordingly with 27.3C now and feeling very humid. Lots of cloud building up though already.

81/64f here on the Temp/Dewpoint front.

Not expecting much from today as the Convergence Zone looks much further North West from here.

West and northwest London were hit by a severe thunderstorm at about 6am this morning, when 7.4mm of rain fell at Kew Gardens in just an hour

Wouldn't be surprised if Heathrow hit 34c by 4.30PM.

My max temp prediction was 33.7c. Will be close.

My max prediction may have been a little conservative at only 32.8C. With the cloud starting to lift now, I think you're going to be quite close with that guess.
