Leatherhead is pretty low down

It does have its better, more affluent areas around Ashtead and Fetcham though surely??? :whistling:

Quite an amazing sight at lunchtime as we head relentlessly into October. My usual lunchtime cycle is shared with perhaps one of two others from the locality, who normally nod and acknowledge a fellow cyclist (of dubious years and equally dubious physical prowess on a mountain bike). Today there must have been 15 or so lunchtime pedalers enjoying the sun and the factories and offices were discouraging workers onto outside green spaces and factory car parks, as they soaked up the rays and warmth of a lovely Autumn day - just chillin' chatting and enjoying their sarnies and wraps.

Isn't sunshine wonderful? Posted Image

It certainly is Coast. The sun has got going over the last hour or so now. We have wall to wall sunshine, and deep blue clear skies. It made my lunch-time walk perfect... :-D

I saw the sun shining through the murk through approximately 1ish, but was being held in deep conversation so couldn't enjoy its joyful emergence. Do you know those people in the office who people come and chat to, and then some considerable time later leave saying 'I feel so much better after talking to you'? Yes well that's me, so not only do I miss the sun emerging from the fog, I also miss my ****ing lunchtime walk to enjoy it Posted Image

Early fog lifted to hazy sunshine here. A way better day than the last few. Posted Image

It certainly is - it's a lovely day to work near the River Thames and have the opportunity to walk along the embankment.  Shame I had to work through lunch due to reception duties and then a meeting straight after Posted Image Posted Image

Afternoon all

After a murky start the sun finally arrived and it is a fantastic day out there now, only popped in to check emails and stuff before I head out to town (few things to pick up) and then it will be time to battle with the car headlight fitting as one of the bulbs has blown (your supposed to take the wheel off and the inner arch and stuff, I do the struggle to fit the bulb with the *limited* space there is behind the thing instead)

I sympathise Reef. Yesterday I had no meetings but the sun didn't appear until the end of the day. Today I have had meetings almost solidly and the sun has been blazing away since about 12:30! My 4pm meeting has now been moved to 5pm for an hour and a half so I won't be home before it is dark. So I may well follow you in the judicious use of asterisks!

Peaked at 19.9c here today, so not quite as warm as yesterday but still very nice on my way home. HAs stayed rather hazy so maybe that suppressed the temperatures?

Right, off out to enjoy the warm sunshine, back later when it is cold and dark (may be a while)

Lee beat me to the spiderweb photo, the whole garden is full of them this morningPosted Image

Couldn't believe how many I saw in the garden this morning. (And in the middle of one of them, a spider was happily tucking into its breakfast of a daddy-long-legs thingy! Yum, if you're a spider, I'm sure. But I stuck with tea and toast!)

----------------

Turned into a corker of a day here, too. (And a good three hours earlier than yesterday.) Sunshine all the way, once the mist cleared off just after 10. And barely a breath of wind. Max temp of 20.8°. So none too shoddy for the last week of September, I'd say.

As an aside, I just cannot believe how quiet the hurricane season has been so far. Wonder if the Atlantic is saving up all its power for Oct/Nov?
