Just been out and got a good number of cuts of holly (now in the house) asked permission from the workers at the care home near me last week, well pleased and will even try and see if I can grow some off these too.

I'm dreaming of a wet Christmas

Just like the ones we often get

Where the tree tops glisten

And children listen

To sounds of people getting wet

I'm dreaming of a wet Christmas

With every Christmas card I write

May your days be soggy (and night)

And may all your waterproofs be tight

Hello all!

AS

Hurray, Mr Spur is back with a cheery Christmas ditty Posted Image That reminds me, must get to Millets, last year's waterproofs must have 'shrunk' when they got wet...

Talking of rain, the stream that runs through campus was a full river torrent yesterday and today; let's see what it's like by Friday if the rainfall totals end up anything like on Coast's maps. Surprisingly cool day after yesterday's distinctly mild muck.

Have a good evening everyone and welcome back AS - hope it's comforting to come back and find everyone chatting away and nothing changed.

Yep, steady rain here again. Not worried, as it'll help fill aquifers and stop concerns about drought, if we have dry spells in Spring / Summer. :)

Yes john a wide variation there and having visited the model thread I think we will need to set up a special home for some people, my goodness it's just the weather and we can't make it snow.  if it's going to rain it's going to rain and it's done that more times over Xmas in my lifetime. I think back to last year when around here our best snowfall was towards the end of January.

In view of possible windy weather I have written my address on the 200 lights on the tree outside so when they get blown off people know where to return them to. now if it's going to be bad should i do the same to the treePosted Image

hi chris

as you say its only weather

to be honest it feels like a normal winter at the moment

white christmas is like hens teeth anyway

the wind is the more concern at present but we need the jet south of us or weaken greatly

to see anything snowy

am i pulling my hair out at present?

nope

plenty of winter left and if we want to be awkward we can say winter does not start until the 21st anyway Posted ImagePosted Image

Cheers jp

So wind and rain then

Sounds like a normal run up to xmas to be honest.

Yeah the last couple of years we had some luck but the mood in the mad thread is ridiculous.

Everyone saying the charts are boring and need to change.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but the charts are supposed to predict the weather right!

So is it not the weather we are having at the moment. which is just normal winter weather IMO that needs to change.

Lol maybe it's me but if it was about to get cold the charts would reflect that.

My punt for what it's worth is snow end of jan early feb.

If nothing then I may start to worry.

But not on the 17th December.

hi bob

i think fi is past 144 on the models

so anything can happen

but i agree patience may be needed for now

what i am waiting for is a low pressure system to go through the uk and

end up dropping south east of us

that would help change this pattern we are in

anyway plenty to be going on with at present and hope that ecm chart for the 26th is wrong
