If you do ever spill a drink with sugar in it over anything electrical, assuming it's off or low power, especially keyboards, immediately disconnect and rinse through thoroughly with clean warm water to get rid of it. If you can dry it properly without any rust/corrosion you may well be OK. You have nothing to lose anyway :)

That's a lot more sensible than standing over it working you way through an assortment of swear words, unpluging it and sticking it near a radiator whilst still swearing at it and blaming anything/anyone who happened to be near me.

Latest interpretations of GFS (XCWeather, Metcheck etc) are spreading out the short sharp 60+MPH Friday night shock into all day Saturday 40-50MPH winds for me. Weds night still in the 50+MPH category.

If it snows here (as in my actual location) I will eat everyone's hats as in all my many years I still have not had snow fall on Christmas Day!

HAd my old cat wee on the C64 (she was old by then) and there was no coming back from that, important bits in there went green and phut!

Ex has sent me a fantastic picture of two red pandas in the snow, will try and upload it.

Wife tells me its stopped raining, can't even get up to look outside ooooh I hear you say, or get up and go to work you fat slob as the wife so kindly put it. Least we haven't got to worry about the ashes until 2015, hopefully we will have a cricket team by then.

Morning CK, morning all.

Are you going to pull a sicky?

It's really not worth getting up and out into the World today let me assure you. Continual rain on the way in through Sussex and that means all the idiots want to play silly beggars in the traffic (why does inclement weather bring out the worst in drivers?).

Looking ahead to the wet and windy spell coming up, I've animated the jet stream charts up until Thursday lunchtime to highlight what they currently show as a direction for some of those gutsy spells and it includes us:

Tomorrow evening into early Thursday could be very windy for Eastern coastal areas:

Coast already notified everyone, so yes a sicky for me, unfortunately.

Best place to be today, the wonderful world of refrigeration engineering can stand one day without you!

Morning. Cloudy but dry here.

Not comment needed on the models, all pretty horrid in my opinion.

Mornin each. A cloudy, grey damp start to the day after a night of fairly heavy rain. It's not that cold either but no idea of temp'.

Went to bed early last night with sickly head and feeling like a wet lettuce. Must've been the choc I ate earlier. :( that'll teach me to be a greedy so and so. :)

Have a good day all. :)

Morning all.  It is quite chilly out here this morning which makes a pleasant change.  No wind. No rain. Blue bits in the sky.  Lovely stuff.

Temp currently 5.5c.

Have a good day all, and get well soon all those that are poorly.

The MO are also showing the same concern for the east coast, at least the last time I checked I was in for 50mph+ gusts Posted Image

Then there's the rain, here's late tomorrow into Thursday on GFS:

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics

General perception from many is that April was a cold month, but statistics would suggest otherwise, with the average temperature for the whole month coming in just above the 30 year average for the UK as a whole.
