I think someone should tell the midges it is December ie. Midwinter they obviously don't realise!

Anyone get any weather gadgets for Christmas?

Latest warnings for the morn.

Looks like I'm on the edge of amber for the winds.

Yep and my lidl weather station says its not got above 2C in my back garden all day. May be reading low though as the sensor is currently sat on the ground until I can get some sort of mast to mount it on. Best bet looks like a TV aerial mast attached to one of the fence uprights. However I do it, its going to be surrounded by houses so I don't expect the wind readings to be that accurate.

Anyway I've a house full of family so no chance to look ahead to the next storm. We'll take what we get but not expecting it to be to bad.

I know we have had wind and rain to deal with over the last few days and the days to come but some thoughts should go out to our southern cousins as there could be some real problems developing down there with water and flooding as you can see from kent here in these pics

post-18233-0-39313400-1388074920_thumb.jpost-18233-0-92279200-1388074919_thumb.jpost-18233-0-29285500-1388074919_thumb.jpost-18233-0-34391700-1388074906_thumb.j

and with other areas widely under flood warnings and precipitation forecasts not good for the next 5 or 6 days we could see some real problems for many and a good few people being flooded out over the new year

Afternoon all and best wishes,

Thats pretty hardcore down the road, great pic's but my heart really go's out to those people

They are seeing more and more extreme weather.. I think insurance companies have now started putting clauses in for houses being built at ground level, apparently a lot of new builds wont get insurance, they have to have higher foundations and a minimum step up..heard this second hand but this extreme weather is playing havoc....

Global warming / climate change, who knows....its just real sad for those people.

Think positive and hope they are getting the help they deserve..

Not much happening here,  2 celsius all day and crystal clear. rivers in big spate though!..looks like we are missing it up here to an extent anyway??   On another note here is hoping for some more traditional scottish winter soon!!  A question for anyone with time to answer,  what are the opinion's on exacta weather forecasting??  used to be free but think they charge now, they use the sun in their long range stuff i think ?

Looking like we might escape the worst tomorrow. Feeling very sorry for our English friends with flooding/no electricity issues etc and hoping tomorrow doesn't make things a lot worse. Posted Image

if it comes further north the central belt could see higher winds but as always we just have to wait and watch to see exactly what happens
