Got thunder, lightning rain and hail the works here!

The rain and hail slightly larger than pea size was like a sheet of water and hail coming down at one point, like what you see in downburst kinda thing! Closest to a full on storm we've had all day! Hope for more over night!

Only light showers here, no thunder or lightning and the local forecast was  little disappointing.

A very warm round of golf today.Ran out of water 4 holes from the end so glad to get to 19th.

Noticed more cloud with some towering cumulus early afternoon but overall another beaut. of a day.

Plenty of showery activity up the west side of our region now looking at latest radar with more heading north for the SW soon.

Can confirm a rumble half hour or so ago. Small home grown cells seem to be forming just SE to SW B'ham area.

Currently CAPE values are at 900 and Lifted Index (LI) is between -3.5 and -4 (50 mile range)

And still, they keep forming.

Crikey check out the storms on the Northern France area! If they are elevated then we in the SW/West Country are game on or around 22.00 onwards! They even look to be getting large enough to be MCS worthy.

Ian Fergusson on BBC Points West said lightning could be very noticeable overnight.

If I don't see anything from what's coming up from the South tonight, I might as well give up now.

Is there any chance it will weaken or move off in another direction?

Somebody put me out of my misery please.

Just hearing more thunder here.  Looks as though it is moving much more quickly now, it's making good time over the Channel!

Yep strike shown up off the coast not far from Port Talbot. You can almost draw the line where activity is kicking off. I hope it continues as I have not seen lightning late evening into the night for aaaaages.
