Huge flakes in Sheffield. Huge big white out flakes. Quite scary to drive in as i had to pick up my daughter. Turned to snow about half 6. Drovr from my elevation at 150ish ft to 70ft and it was all thick snow. All roads are covered and its trechreous. Just what we called for! Maybe we are in the sweet spot!

Settled really suddenly here and we appear to have a decent covering already.

Well surprisingly, it is now snowing albeit very light and unlikely to settle. Radar showing heaviest precip slowing moving closer, so still hoping to see something heavier!

Snowing in huddesfield but looking at radar unlikely to settle seems to be moving south to my untrained eye.

Snowing rathe well here not indicative of the radar, perhaps orographic snowfall.

Thanks Steve, hope you get some soon as you've earned it with all the excellent analysis you give in the Mod thread.

Although the ground was extremely wet when it turned from rain to snow, it made no difference at all in terms of the speed at which our estate turned white.  The ground is now completely covered, including roads, and the snow continues to fall heavily.  Don't remember seeing such large flakes over such a prolonged period of time on too many occasions.  Flakes this big usually peter out after a few minutes.
