Light rain here. Judging by the other regional threads and based on radar projections it looks to remain this way for at least another hour.

The heavy/snowy band is just heading into Liverpool now, but still falling as rain in Manchester. all in all looking more positive than was predicted. Could get a few hours of heavy stuff looking at the radar!

Radar looks brilliant with the band looking to flatten (pivot) well north of York.

If this stays the case then we could be in all night and Sheffield could get some the heavy stuff.

Midlands reporting its taking about an hour to turn to snow.

Yes, around 30-50 mile south of Glasgow & Edinburgh looks like the furthest Northern limit its going to get?

At 190m here went up the road literally 5 meters higher and it's wet snow.

So the snow line is 195-205m. The sleet line is around 185m, anywhere below is rain.

It'll take an hour or so till the snow line drops to about 100m.

LOoks like a line from York to the Isle of man at the moment. Will probably just about reach Carlisle.

Dam, the road from my old house went from 150-220m in about a mile.

I'm still in the 100-150m range though.

Good to know. I'm 115m asl in west leeds. Amazing to think just 85m above my head it's falling as snow!

Turned heavier and sleety now :)

Sleeting now up here but wet sleet still. As were all saying, give it time, the meto/BBC are saying snow for Sheffield from 9pm-1am so its only just getting here isnt it. When the heavy stuff comes up in the middle of the night well do well, as hopefully by then the cold air is cutting in and wrapping round

Gap in the 2 bands around Carlisle, kind of an "S" shape to all the ppn? But as you said SB: clearly pivotted.

That top bits wierd, shouldn't be there but yeah. Draw a line from Liverpool to Nottingam and the cities not far from the line are going to do well.

It's 3C and raining here. Not sure if it will turn to snow later on but I'm only at 90m ASL so touch and go. BBC and MetO don't show snow at all, only rain. We'll wait and see, but I'm only expecting rain here.

Estimating 41% chances of snow at this moment in time (based on pits live weather data & location/height etc, 2.7 air temp + 1.2 DP = 3.9 amalgamation therefore 41%)

(If A > 7 prob. snow is very small

If A=7 prob. snow = 10%

A=6 20%

A=5 30%

A=4 40%

A=3 50%

A=2 60%

A=1 70%

A=0 80% or more)

But very unsure of this ratio to predict snowfall?
