Settling mostly on anything away from walls, houses and trees. They seem to be more resistant to the cold.

Still snowing moderately. Reckon i have 3-4cm, although will go out and measure when snow clears in a few hours (the heavy stuff). Hopefully temperatures drop enough so i can get a few daylight pictures!

A bit of a disaster in the Midlands thread, the snowfall totals by the meto seem about right (2-4cm). But the front came and left earlier and alot of reports of rain washing the snow away.

Hopefully nothing like that happens in our region.

Still coming down at the same rate here, nice steady snowfall. Temps dropped to 0.5C now.

Car tracks on the main Sheffield road are quickly covered over, cars are passing very slowly

Still not a gritter in sight, the local council depot is just down the road from here and theres

no activity from there.

Was fearing that gap just to the north of Nottingham may get us, but seems to be moving more eastwards than northwards now. Should be another 2-3 hour of heavy precipitation before it starts to clear, which will hopefully give us all time for a dusting :)

When it comes to Channel Lows and the like you want to be on the top left bit of the T for the longest snow. Not a classic T shape is this system but you get what I'm saying.

Now proper snow at last and starting to cover cars and grass here in Lofthouse, anyone know how long we can expect it to go on for?

Out here in snowy southeast Sheffield, started off with a couple of hours of light/moderate rain - then around 1830, it's snowed ever since.

Hammering it down at the moment in a strong & gusty wind. Around 2 inches at the moment.

Very happy times !!
