It's been snowing moderately/heavy here for past hour, it's starting to settle on cars/roofs.

A good covering (1-2cm) in Barnsley and continuing to snow moderately. Radar showing it should continue for another hour or 2 before disappearing south east.

Went for a drive to find the snow, ended up just off the M1 on a road which leads to rotherham, or at least would do if it was passable! Turned round and parked up to enjoy the first snow in a long time!

6cm of snow now. Still a decent amount coming down. Would like to make it to 10cm but it seems to becoming lighter. Still, i thought i'd only get a couple of cm's tops as it cleared. First decent snow in over a year! Was also breaking some the smaller bushes in the garden (due to the high water content) so had to go out a bash them all. Im sure i looked quite odd

Sadly just heavy sleet here in Grimsby, I can't honestly see us having snow this time around. Further west looks great. Must admit I'm pretty jealous.

Moderate snow here, but struggling to stick. Annoying as it's been fairly moderate/heavy snow for a couple of hours now.

Should start sticking soon as temp getting near freezing. Plus looks like the front is pepping up a bit as it rotates over our region!

You sure its not 9CM, that what the photo says Mark. ;)

Great photos and I'm sure it is a surprise for you, the system is definately further North than forecast and well I can only dream of seeing scenes like those.

Here's hoping we get our turn when/if we get an easterly later on this winter. Leeds area is getting a decent covering going by reports on here.

Looks like the northern edge of the snow is beggining to push back westwards, hopefully bring in some moisture from the north sea and pep it up aswel as make it last longer.
