Seems milder than forecast today. Temps of 4-5c being recorded all the way up to southern Scotland. Dew points below 0 though.

Can see the real cold air up in the Highlands...hopefully it'll catch the sleeper train south tonight!

The BBC have something for the West midlands around 5am Sunday and the MMN's have this, also 8:00 and 13:00

Interesting as the EURO4 doesn't have the Midlands down for any snow today or tomorrow which is a shame because other paramters such as the dew point are well within the snow limits. Edited by picog

Temperature here at 4.6C and falling.

Humidity is 65%, which gives me a dewpoint of -1C already. This is the effect of the drier air moving south. I would expect the temps to fall more quickly now.

Edit Gord - see you are also picking up on the dewpoints.

It really is much drier air now.

Yh it is a touch milder than forecast its good and bad good that extra warmth will create more moisture and bad that could be marginal but i belive when the band comes down it will bring the cold with it and its another late nite scenario again lol Edited by snowangel32

I swear that Euro4 model is useless. NMM was pretty accurate with the PPN last night. Hopefully it will be again tonight.

So is there any chance of snow tonight then, or is radar watching all night?

12z GFS PPN charts look like a downgrade to me :( hardly anything for tonight now.

The Euro4 was in the same mode last night, it had nothing for the Midlands and nmm's was on form, spot on it was as some of us seen the best Snow in a long time.

Not saying the nmm will play ball tonight but the law of averages say it's the Euro4 turn  .....BUT WE'LL SEE :hi:

Met have put warnings for the whole of the midlands what can they see, and last night was the heaviest snowfall I have seen since 2010 we have to be thank full those to the se and sw have seen nothing on the whole, and the real cold air is digging in you can see that already Mon, Tues, wed forecasts are changing all the time so I for one am loving this winter so far and we still have Feb and march to go

I'm only 30 miles SE from you and we have only had cold rain, blink at you'll miss it sleet/snow showers and nothing of note lying.....elevation elavation elevation !!

Edit: I am genuinely happy for all you guys that got a decent fall last night......just massiveley jealous :D

Thank you but I fear only a very cold easterly with a frontal attack from the South West will deliver for me......
