Well, mine lasted long enough for me to get downstairs and make a cuppa

Least temps are starting to fall away now. 0.5c from 3c about an hour ago.

i guess the good news is, that we are going to get temperatures down to freezing tonight after all, and with showers still packing in from the north, well north, northwest and across ireland we could yet see more tomorrow, when conditions should be perfect!

i agree though would be amazing if we got back building on that, we'd hit the same jackpot as those in derby or glossop lol

Wow what a night, pretty much none stop heavy snow since 7pm! Big fluffy flakes with only a few restbites in between. Oldham is close to Standstill.

Where I live, higher up. These roads were ploughed and gritted earlier in the evening :) Was strange as at one point it did spot a bit of drizzle but as you can see it quickly reverted. Still Snowing heavily here.

cold undercut as arrived for you, but its probably a little too late, but wait for the weekend, if those models come off we could end up with quite a mountain of snow down here lol

what from inbedded troughs? I hope so.

Almost proper snow here now, have the smallest of dustings. Getting lighter.

What did the meto say? moving down the Mersey into Wales, should have kept an eye on the NMM which wasn't too far off the ball

i think it was some way off actually, because the nmm was showing much further east, and not down the mersey to wales, well at least the latter one

NMM shows precip tomorrow, but the uppers are -3C in the morning, too high, they fall to -5C in the afternoon. Too marginal really. Need to wait for the true northerly to establish and see if we can get any fronts pushing up against embedded cold.

i guess we will have to wait and see, nothing about this weather or these models have been quite accurate enough for me to 100% rely on what they tell me at this moment.

I mean tonight as been extremely weird and it should not have panned out that way, but then the weather does what it wants.

But i have to say, that snow has been coming down like powder, and its now covered everything, its snowing moderately, and non of the big flakes thats associated with wet melting snow, now that is impressive from what we have come from a few short hours ago when it looked like a monsoon in full swing with heavy rain

Evaporative cooling at it's best. If you've noticed, there's not A BREATH of wind outside, that's the reason it's snowing and not raining. Evaporative cooling at it's absolute best. It's 0.2C out there, but as soon as the PPN moves away it'll all melt unfortunately, unless the skies clear.

yeah about 12cm here

There's no way you have 12cm in St.Helens. 1.2CM yeah.
