Oh yes METO forecast for NW on their website looks fairly promising:

Tonight:

There will be further wintry showers overnight, and with increasingly cold air, the showers will fall as snow to lower levels. Minimum Temperature -1C.

Saturday:

A cold, very windy day with sunny spells and a few wintry showers. The showers becoming more frequent into the evening, perhaps falling as snow to lower levels overnight. Maximum Temperature 5C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Remaining very cold, and generally windy, but with a good deal of dry weather, particularly on Sunday. The risk of more widespread rain and snow later on Monday

Last night's "polar low" did the trick - another day off of sixth form. I can enjoy my four-day weekend now!

No more really expected today unfortunately - plus it will turn 'less cold' later and tomorrow up to 5oC (not sure how that translates to you at your altitude!) hopefully your snow sticks around for the colder weather arriving over weekend, but I have no doubt mine will all melt!! haha

Normally 2-3c lower up here than manchester.... Atm its 0c dew -1c....

Im thinking as we have this much snow itll not melt at all.... The temp really shouldnt get much above 0-2c and if we had any clear skies overnight i would reckon wed easily get down to -5 to -8c....

Trains, unlike when i lived in kent, are all working, youll be fine.... Yet another reason ive moved here!

I mean i am driving... and i know the hill on Dinting Rd is a hell of a hill haha.. My Quattro should be ok.. isnt?

Morning C.S,

Can't post charts as on phone but latest bbcnews24 forecast sounded good for sat, esp sat night. Plenty of snow showers moving south through the night, must be a trough forming. Less modification from the sea from a northerly plus colder sourced air.

A smidge of snow again overnight in Preston not quite enough to cover the grass but it has snowed during the night.

Nothing at all once you get 5 miles N of Preston, even dry up here nr Kendal.

Quite a spread of temperatures from west to east with at 9.20 Liverpool airport temperature/dew point 6c/4c and Manchester airport 1c/0c. The milder air has reached Warrington in the middle and the snow which had firmed up and was a bit icy an hour ago is now thawing very rapidly.

I've found that iPhone users take photos in portrait mode 99% of the time, this usually causes the problem of them being rotated. Does anybody use landscape mode? lol

Well, I did a search: http://iphonephotographyschool.com/iphone-photos-upside-down/
