He did also mention the track is still uncertain.

Yes if it tracks further east elevation or not I could end up with less snow by morning than I have now..  :bomb:

Taster for Gloucester by 9pm first looking at radar...

Well the ground has turned White here!

It's now snowing

Yay, good for you! Is it proper snow or that weird hail/sleet/rain combo?

I am still nervous being on his southern boundary (mendips - northeastwards) for snow/rain :unsure2:

Looks like a nowcasting event NK , I have been out all day and didnt even realise this little Polar Low was in the forecast. I have just checked out the Polar Low thread and where it actually lands looks open to debate !

Well if the ECM were to verify, any disturbances in the Northerly/North Easterly flows would produce snow on most days for a vast part of this region from the 1st February right through to the 8th February. How? A brief interpretation of the 850s suggests they will range from -6 to -7 throughout. Next we would simply need to concentrate on the expected precipitation and that I'll leave to a daily watch of the radars and media forecasts.

Exciting times.

I can see it turning nasty in that thread especially with everyone being of an east bias haha. Edited by Jayfromcardiff

Wales is getting battered by quite a few showers according to the radar, now will those Cotswolds hills stop them coming across to East Wiltshire and West Berkshire and Oxfordshire I wonder. They are forecast to die out but things aren't going to plan so far, to my mind at least. Cornwall getting a few wintry ones drifting in from of the coast too.

Who, where, when?

Am I likely to be in the rain or the snow as I am practically under where it goes out?

I wouldn't like to guess at the moment Beka......lots of variable outcomes, so best to watch the radar..........It's up in the air.........(no pun intended........actually I can't believe I just typed 'its up the air'....how cliched is that?......FAIL!  lol)

It seems temps will be on the rise for many across the region during the first part of the night/morning. The hi-res models do seem to favour it further east.

We have killed the radar :fool:  (i know, I should pay for netweather extra but I don't know what any of it means so would be wasted money)

Well I don't think I've ever experience a polar low that has dumped rain here so it would certainly be a first and typical of this winter for it do so lol.

Slightly warmer uppers moving down from the Northwest, ahead of the developing low.
