Really squally snow/soft hail shower just moved through here. Temp down to 01.4C with some fine accumulation on the grass/roofs/car roofs etc. Need another one to come along again now!

Latest from Ian regarding any polar low activity;

"W COUNTRY We will be closely watching the polar low development tonight as it *might* yield problematic lying snow in some areas esp to N-E"

AWD, You mean , Newcastle area?

That's surprising as I thought polar lows didn't last long once formed and it'll have to last quite a while to make it all the way down here.

Just had a 2 minute hail shower. Temp falling quite quickly now down from 3.5c to 2.8 in 10 mins dew point at -1. Getting frustrated now Bulford snow shield seems to be working again.

Well I would have thought Ian meant N/E parts of the West Country considering his tweet was about the West Country but you could always ask him if you're unsure.

Watch the radar might be the best idea mate.

Doesn`t look like to much snow though:

M.O

Showers during Thursday afternoon and evening are expected to fall increasingly as sleet, snow and hail. This may settle in places, especially from late afternoon and more especially on high ground. In addition, a more persistent spell of rain, sleet and and snow may affect the west and south of the yellow area during the early hours of Friday morning. Most areas are unlikely to see large amounts of snow but icy stretches are likely to form on untreated surfaces.

The public should be aware of the risk of some travel disruption and difficult driving conditions.

Do you think this reflects ppn direction or areas with most conducive wbfl?

Just seen a light flurry here in south bristol but I have a text from home saying it is all white outside.  :)  Lets hope it doesn't melt before I can evaluate it at 5.30.  :nonono:

Temperature is apparently 0.0c at home now too
