Some pretty heavy showery rain overnight and this morning bringing a further 11mm and making May's total a very high 98.5mm!

However just like Friday the fronts have cleared away leaving a fine though windy afternoon and it looks likely to be increasingly sunny into this evening.

Breezy, cloudy, but bright. 14°C

NMM and GFS ideas for Friday. West is best, probably a bit too far west for my liking, on the NMM.

@knocker do you have a 500mb ECM chart in your weatherbell suite (showing precip) for the same time frame or thereabouts? Cheers.

Forgot about this one:

ECM showing some showery activity from Hampshire to the wash, overnight Friday.

Well looking at the Radar here you would think its steady rain but just DAMP AND WINDY .

Probably will turn heavier as the front gets closer .

looking forward to some weather action later this week but i think all the models will only get a grip come later wednesday .

Went out for a long walk in the woods today and still loads of bluebells ,wind now started to pick up ,cheers gang . :drinks:

I am trying to keep positive because last year the 4th June was horrendous yet we ended up with a fantastic summer.

However evenings of gales and heavy rain are far better in the winter months when it's not daylight until 10pm!

Another abysmal start to the week for the BBC forecasts. Yesterday was supposed to be dry after overnight rain, but it rained on and off throughout the morning. Today was also supposed to be dry until evening, but it's been raining persistently since mid-afternoon. Must do better.

Getting wild here, now. I concede, it's pantz for June, but i do love a good gale! Not a great deal of rain, currently sat at 5.8mm.

Not quite as windy as days in May but it sounds like autumn out there! Been raining persistently since 3pm after a dry morning.

A quick look around this morning shows wind peaks of:

Isle of Portland     53mph

St Catherines Point     47mph

Bournemouth      44mph

Looks a little bit like a warzone out there this morning, the guy next door gate had been slamming all night, that was until it fell apart. Dustbins look like they have been in a bowling alley with their contents strewn across the road.

9.1mm rain in the 24 hours to 09.00GMT today.  Still blustery out there and drizzle in the wind too making it feel autumnal.  Roll on tomorrow!

Having brightened up for a while in mid morning it has become vile with squally bursts of rain. The muggy feeling 15.8c seems almost irrelevant.

Yes that was a rapid change from squally rain to sunny spells. The radar suggests the cold front sparked into life around midday as it crossed this part of the region, forming something of a squall line before rapidly dissipating as it moved Eastwards.

Barring a few sharp/blustery showers later/overnight the next rain risk is Friday's thundery 'potential' but it will be great to have a settled/warm few days first.

Tuesday BBC forecast not much better than the last two days. Damp start predicted, but not early afternoon squall line, which led to yet another unforecasted soaking,
