Has anybody got an atmospheric wind direction for this evening and overnight?

Haven't you got access to the charts on your phone? You did earlier.

Fat chance they will hit the UK though! :(

If it evidences an unstable airmass that heads our way, I'm happy :D

Certainly very interesting night coming up ,hvy rain here now eased off a bit but radar showing more heading north .

hard i think to predict best places for thunder later but i think west country will catch some but possibly places further east could be better for anything intense ,but in this type of set up loads of players in the atmosphere so heres hoping we get some happy posters .

just started hvy again .lets hope for a good un .cheers Bappers . :yahoo:

Hi Dan, a quick note for those interested in plotting storm directions and flow, it's a good idea to look at the 500hPa directional charts, as generally storms are steered by the 500hPa flow

Anywhere East of the IOW is in for a shout from this as far as I can see.

That lot in the BoB is currently heading towards Sussex/Kent, London and East Anglia. Let's hope it holds out and more stuff can form along with it.

With regards to William in Devon, I think you may be too far west on this occasion mate.

Thank you AJ,

Bay of Biscay is becoming more electrically active :bomb:

Looks promising for the eastern side of the country, time will tell.

I predict areas to the south and east of London being affected by the storms over Biscay. If they hold there strength then Kent may be the place to be during the early hours of tomorrow. However, I would be very surprised if anything came this far north or west.

I'd be very surprised if any areas of current activity would affect us...to my mind anything that may affect us would develop in the early hours.

NickF...snooker is awesome by the way :D

Humidity is continuing to rise now at 91% there's a lot of moisture up in the atmosphere with Dew Point also responding at 11.4*C both values highest it has been all day. Getting quite stuffy.

Marked difference in humidity now which has rocketed recently, which given that is raining and from a warm front that's not exactly groundbreaking!
