Just had a light rain shower in MK. I think the rain radar was picking up moisture instead of rain as we should have had drizzle since 2pm, but it was dry until just after 2:30pm.

Just got a bit cloudy here, a few drops of rain in it that you can feel on your skin but it's not wetting anything or showing on radar, they feel big and convective type of drops, like you get when a storm is approaching. So something may well be building for north west of here. Good luck. Feeling very warm and humid. temp 24.

well we have some proper alto-cumulus pushing across and developing. Still not much on the other side of the channel which is where we need to be looking.

Think I may need to reposition my IP cam a bit later, I faced it SW in anticipation of strikes coming up from the Brighton area, which is the wrong way for me, I need to reposition it looking SE, although theres a wall in the way

I can either fix it SW, W or NW, the back of the house focuses on this whole area, but I'm inclined to have it facing SW to follow storms tracking towards me, who knows!

It's looking more promising now.  Things starting to kick off nicely over Northern France (see radar animations for last couple of hours) and feeling increasingly close now in Brighton.  5pm (earliest) - 10pm looks to be the time across SE.

Supposedly it always always going to be a late in the day affair hold tight past years radar watching has told me things can change rapidly. Goodluck all I'll be very surprised if there's no substance from this fable plume.

Steve good for your reports to keep coming are you at home? As you are pretty far East of the region so bods well for further West to

The towers have moved off. Whether they'll benefit north EA? Who knows.

I think tonight in the south east could well be like waiting for snow.

It just doesnt look right, huge area of no thunderstorms to the south of us.

I think the phrase odd thunderstorm comes to mind.

I see anvils! Heading this way but very distant, French storms showing off their berets.

Well, today was a flop. We had some rain (even quite heavy around 1515), but no thunder. Also, I havn't seen the sun yet today at all, so I havn't been able to feel those 'hot' temperatures. But, the air seems quite thick though.

Still 22.8C here. It's been wall to wall sunshine all day, just turning hazy now but still very bright all the same.

Interesting to see the cell leaving France now heading for east Kent. It will be interesting to see how it lasts over the next hour as it crosses the channel. At the moment it doesn't seem to be having much effect as it's now just moving out over the Chanel but it's still building. Very bright echoes showing on the latest radar returns so possibly hail core? Lots of Sfrerics from it. Areas such as Canterbury should be hearing thunder within the next hour if it continues the way it is currently.
