Agreed . the snow precipitation over south Scotland is building a little and heading SSE over i believe West Yorkshire, Derbyshire, West Nottinghamshire. Much now further east than predicted. Whether it holds any real intensity will be found out in the next 2 hours, but hopeful of some snow arriving this ecvening in Chesterfield Area

We will hopefully see temps dropping off soon enough as night time comes, but as CR mentions, a number of posters stated that the snow was not settling, before it eventually began to a while later.

Good luck to all those out West, I had a light snow shower overnight that left a very small dusting. Would be nice for something more significant at home for once, but at least I got my hills. Hope to see some pics later :)

Temperature slowly dropping now down to 2.4c.

Getting overcast as well so lets hope we get at least a little bit of the white stuff before the night is out!

Snowing here now for 10 minutes. Starts off very little small flakes, then gradually increases a bit (still very light) then switches to big flakes.

Just got to wait till the heavier precip reaches here now.

Looking good for us as long as it keeps its intensity.

It looks to me like the system is loosing it strength, less intense through Scotland

I expect to see some good pictures on here tomorrow - Shame it can't keep pushing across to the east coast. I wait in anticipation for a proper beast from the east - think I will have a long wait !!!

I share your frustration tinker bell, the Beeb did show showers moving down the coast after midnight so you never know. Having read the metoffice  update earlier we might get lucky as we head towards February. Finger crossed for you guys in the west tonight.
