Looks like my slush puppy cup may become a rainy mess then winterof79 lol. What a poor excuse for winter. Roll on Spring now. Although they seem to think on mod thread winter is just around the corner into March. But haven't we heard that all winter ;0)

You could be correct. Keep it out until Thursday though....just incase we actually do get some luck for once.Lol

The winter of downgrades strikes again! METO forecast very poor for here.

Heavy rain right through from 5pm to 11pm before it turns to sleet for an hour.

Pfffffft bring on the summer now, don't think I can keep chasing damp squibs.

Bad news the front has weakened a lot so I would now say 30/70

In terms of temperatures/dew points we seem to no higher than forecast which is good and the cold air is undercutting in a line from Edinburgh to Wales at the moment.

I'm still relatively optimistic although there's a chance i'm too far west for this one as the colder dew points seem to be hanging on better further east.

I'm expecting a hail/sleet mix from mid evening onwards. Imagine Olivers Mount and the like may manage a dusting.

Just looking around at it seems that snow was confirmed in Ireland and the Isle Of Man down to about 100m.

We just need the front to stay at its current pace.

Can't see it slowing much like we need it to.

It's not moving that fast. Th cold air is already undercutting in a line from Blackpool to Newcastle (see the wind direction becoming more westerly) and they still have precipitation.

Even if we get 3 hours out of it, that's still pretty good.

turning more sleety on the Yorkshire Wolds

Temperature at Garrowby (245m) is currently 1.4c so I wouldn't be surprised if there are some wet flakes up there.

The front to weak to produce enough rainfall too cool the atmosphere so unlikely to be any snow bar the highest peaks in the peak district. Rain elsewhere.

Back edge about an hour away by the looks of the radar. Pity as the temps are falling away just moving too quick and too weak to deliver.
