Does anyone know of a site that shows lightning strikes but also tries to predict path of storm. I'm sure I came across something like it a while ago, thought I had saved it to favourites, but can't find it now?

No precip doesn't always mean no storms, they could be high-based dry-storms yet PPN wouldn't show up on the models. Got some AcCas already in the Peaks which is a encouraging sign.

The opposite I'm afraid as the precipitation does show up but doesn't reach the ground as rain. These are very high based storms approaching the S of England. They look to be moving NNE and will give a good lightning display but little rain or thunder sound because they are so high.

I would suggest E Devon to IOW initially at risk.

Sea temperature will have no effect as they are not surface based.

Should get here about dusk which will be nice

I'm having none of it I'm afraid. Still a 70% chance it won't happen - I think the likelihood is <10% risk

Heres a live-ish view looking west from Guernsey of the storm moving up across the channel - it refreshes roughly once a second, give or take.

Bridgwater Somerset

There's a center of one torrential downpour just about to hit wells ~ expecting Blitzortung to pick up some lightning from it tbh

then do something over Bristol.. probably fizzle out knowing Bristol.

Clouds have fired up all over Devon and Somerset.. potential home grown storms to come from them.. lots of fairly quick developments.

Some interesting clouds popping up from my South. It was clear 30 minutes ago!

Don't quote me but the probability from these I've never seen them higher than 30 so it may imply reasonable confidence. I'm not entirely sure can I have someone to verify if this is wrong or right.

Out enjoying the sun, when I look south to see these clouds, went straight on my phone, to check sat/radar etc to come to the surprise of convective activity (wasn't expecting anything today) hope it delivers a good show later...

What is this I see off in the distance... Possible AcCas tower?? Very distant but a notable white bulb on the horizon!

Sudden strong breeze flared up now too in from the SE!

Clouds rolling in after a blue sky all day this is going to go one of 2 ways we will be a breeding ground for others to get storms or there will be no storms at all although rain alarm has gone off twice in last 20 mins.

Personally I think nothing will happen here all week.

As others have said been beautiful clear blue skies all day here, a bit of high level cloud now beginning to creep in from the west.  That storm in the channel looks to be headed for the Dorset coast atm, also a few sferics have broken out to the west of the main clump so maybe some will get a light show later, all good signs hopefully!

Found this earlier which certainly got me in the mood for what might be to come  :)
