I think tommorow there will be 2 areas of interest. The first one will be these imports near brest tracking further north affecting south west england/ wales overnight. Tracking north through the day tommorow with some hefty downpours/ a bit of hail and lightning in places. But the second area, now this of real interest bein storms sparked off through the day over northern england/southern scotland. Now these have the potential to be severe and make the ones in the west look mini-school.. Unfortunatly I think the met office warning are should be 50 miles further north with west yorkshire missing out.

To me apart from a bit of Sth Yorkshire the areas you mention are covered!

I meant the whole warning area should be about 50 miles further north with yorkshire (the southern part of the warning area) missing out. So the warning area reaches just north of edinburgh/glasgow. Only my opinion though not saying it's certain to be right.

Looks like a bank of Accas towers in the distance, all good signs.

Activity seems pretty stunted across NW France...I personally wouldn't be getting too excited just yet.

Playing the loop shows it steering NNE.

That's 300 hPa wind, way too high for mid level instability I presume?

lightning across north-west france does not look very frequent at the moment, but it's a start. Hey, better than nothing :)

I'm just using it to gauge the direction of flow. It seems to match in with the HR visible b&w satellite loop.

Just goes to show high CAPE isn't always a guarantee for thunderstorms.

All that energy over north west france and all we are seeing are a few peanuts firing off towards Brest..

That's odd - I live in Leeds too and we have definitely gotten more than a couple of storms over the past two years (which isn't saying much at all, is it?).

I see what looks like some Altocumulus castellanus amongst the mid level cloud, feeling quite humid as well
