Get through the traffic alright? I don't know who the hell planned the air show the same day as a rugby league match at the A J Bell Stadium but someone didn't check the diary. Idiots!

Wasn't too bad, just about timed it right setting off at 9.15 this morning as the last car-park spaces at the stadium were filling up by 11, Made a beeline at around 3.20ish when the rain started to show an appearance and sat in the car with a cuppa tea watching the darkening skies followed by the torrential rain. Coming home was slightly easier, pretty much waited out the traffic and by half 4 we were straight out onto the motorway.

Cracking monsoon storm just north in Daventry after the Grand Prix finished, knocked the 3 signal out until just now.

This was followed at 6pm by this lovely front.

Got as far as Stanley (near Durham) glad we went as wegot to see some Cg's and a turbulent sky. Had to cut the 'chase' short as the car developed a turbo problem and had to limp back. Here on the coast the storm diminished very suddenly as the 'cruel' North sea easterly killed it off.!!

Approaching the storm.

Looks like those last few were taken near Pontop Pike not far from the television mast.

Thats exactly where we went. We did go further up towards the mast but I felt we were a little to exposed to some of the dangerous lightning around so decided to come down.

Apparently we did have thunder with that torrential! rain earlier. I had my music blasting so probably missed it. Got a lift into work though and there was quite a bit of surface flooding on the roads.

3 days this week we've had audible thunder here then.

Not so sure to be honest - Check this link to the European Severe Weather Database http://www.eswd.eu/

There was plenty of lightning damage around the UK but not recorded on here, so its possible.

Think our storms on Friday night looked just as good if not better than those in the webcams above tbh!

Unfortunately today's storms killed two people after they were struck by lightning http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-mid-wales-33401965

More thunder lightning and local downpours today, hardly a whiff compared to Friday night into Saturday. Although some have still missed out sadly, I feel your pain, look how stormy the past week has been and considering a very thunder free Springtime.

I may be missing something but why has a level 3 been issued for Germany, it doesn't look that severe?

If one of these landed on your head you might be thinking otherwise.

Plenty of reports of the warned elements.
