What does everyone think shopshire will get? I really dread these storms, but looking at radar, hopefully just heavy rain. Thankyou

hopefully you shouldn't see much in the way of thundery activity I can't completely rule it out but you might get rain and that stuff in the SE shouldn't reach you , quite frankly it shouldn't reach me and I'm 70 miles further East and just so yuo know I don't like them either

Very gloomy and sticky outside here, the thundery rain from this morning, and a few brief bright spells have made it nearly unbearable outside. Need a proper storm to clear the air.

I lurk on here to keep up on the weather and storms and stuff. Not to hear hate filled guff about the refugees in Calais. I can go to a Daily Express/Mail comments section to hear hate spewed.

Let's keep to the weather and keep unpleasant posts off here eh? Not everyone wants to read them.

Anyone in Clacton or Walton on Sea, Orwell river area and Dedham Vale up through to Ipswich?

Gone really gloomy here in Colchester, no rain yet.

Blitzortung says lightning 23 miles SE.

Yeah rain and thunder here now

Any chance of storm hitting spalding area of lincolnshire

A better chance than in Derby I would have thought. Keep your eye on East Anglia  :good:

Antwerp has disappeared!

A few strikes here in Stevenage. Looks like homegrown storms tonight!

Good stuff may get some fireworks tonight!

Quite right, plenty of rain heading up this way. You can see the westerly movement to the showers now as they continue north.

That radar is a beast.

I seem to be breeding ground for showers, getting dark here, but i think that's the time of the evening rather than rain.

I agree I only live 20 mins off the A38 from Derby and I don't see any chance, not at least until late tonight if anything, but don't expect much in the way of anything electrifying yet. Been really dull here all day with a spot of rain that lasted about 5 mins this afternoon.

Line of heavy showers just north of Paris, look good for the SE, if they dont lose any strength.

I am watching the showers to the north and west of London. Even if they are not heading for Derby they are heading in the right direction and I have everything ready to jump in the car and chase.

I'd say thundery rain is quite possible. Hoping that remnant of the MCS over Belgium holds out and gives us a decent lightning show.

Looking good folks! Storms really getting going now as the move NW. A line from kent to Birmingham looks like seeing storms at first. This could extend north trough the night. Feeling spoilt this year as this looks like decent storm number 3 of the year for here. Good luck all !
