Storm over the Peaks earlier this afternoon

Looks like the US plains.

More thunder to the south - and dark skies.

What a day it's been for the South Yorkshire folk!

I must say I've forgotten how scary it is driving in a proper menacing storm! The street lights were on, day turned to night, road was flooding and much of the time I was aquaplaning! Frightening is an understatement!

It was the same for us just starting our journey from Atoconilco to Mexico city. I did suggest we turn back due to flooding. Drains were light fountains. Some fantastic lightning and deafening thunder whilst it was overhead. I got some video will have to post it when I can sort it back in England.

Had a nice lil storm here at about 4pm, quite a lot of rumbles, some flashes (may have been forks but didn't see any), and there were 2 CG's that I happened to miss but could tell due to the bright flash and loud booming thunder, louder than any other rumbles.

Relatively brief torrential rain with it and a few showers after.

Nothing like some storms around now though.

except for this south yorkshire folk :(

it skirted off to the east of my location, only heard it.

Most we've had is a 10 minute heavy rain storm with 1 lightning and 2 thunder claps

And we're not forecast anymore today. ah well ne'er mind

Rumbles of thunder in the distance

The reports on twitter mention a storm worth keeping an eye on as it passed from Sheffield, South Kirkby (in video), Featherstone and recently the York area.

We've missed the cell to the east, which will give Sheffield a drenching but has avoided us by a matter of 1 or 2 miles at most. Cell to the west is rumbling occasionally but is further away.
