Just had a torrential shower here, distant thunder rumbling out to the west, cleared through now, just drizzle. Looks like the main band is approaching.

Must say I'm surprised of the T&L activity further north , rain band wasn't anythying particulary heavy as it passed through earlier in the afternoon of course noticed the tempeature drop from mid morning to mid afternoon gone from having the windows open to closed

Further north has been able to take advantage of the warmer, humid airmass ahead of the front for longer. High temperatures and the incoming cold front helping the air to rise and form thunderstorms. CAPE values always looked better in the NW today.

Does it portend anything interesting if skies look milky? Wonder if we'll get anything up here. Last night was pretty poor with just a couple of flashes in the distance. But, hey ho, that's the way it goes.

Sitting blissfully by a lake in Creuse, Limousin getting texts from my brother in law in Leeds saying they have overhead lightning at a family gathering! In fairness, we were camping up here last night and had some great distant stroboscopic lightning, followed by later overhead storms and some great rain. Glad we were able send up some of our activity to the UK...

Does look anything particulary interesting but these showers really give a decent amount of rain to my SW.

Could be any thunder with that low coming on tonight from the south west? It looks like the rain is heavy.

Tomorrow is really Interesting me, torrential showers i reckon, theres a lot of good wind sheer, and decent wind cape and LI. I think we are looking at more funnel clouds/ waterspouts or possible the odd Tornado in a couple of areas. Also a good risk of Thunder too

That front is really beefing up as it moves north. Going to some huge rain totals from that.
