Too far east here for any snow tonight. Ruddy hell last night was too marginal and tonight I'm too far east, which ironically usually helps with cold/snow

Just 30 miles more to the East and we're game-on here in the west peak district, there does seem to be a slight easterly component to the showers moving in across Formby.

We've got the dregs of those showers further west at the minute CS- we need a more direct hit.

Bit like yesterday, only have to nip down the road and I can see the top of Anfield from other side of Mersey! Yet it was sleety/wet snow there and pouring down here!

Second day of the season delivering snowfall, albeit very light wet stuff, flurries in essence this morning that managed to deposit a thin dusting to car roofs and grass, however, it was very shortlived. The snowline is about 200-250 metres roughly very marked. Had the precipitation been heavier we should have seen a bit more of a cover, alas it needed to be much longer lasting.

Yesterday evening things were looking good here for some snowfall overnight. It now looks like the showers will miss us, but we may see a few tomorrow, so I've still got my fingers crossed we will see a snowy cover through the weekend, though not expecting much, a couple of cms max. This time last year we had a similar scenario, with a couple of cms on the ground though temps are projected to be colder this time around.

Just looking forward to our first dry weekend since the 21/22 Nov and a superb one for winter walking.

Looking at the radar the wind seems to have a more WNW flow about it which increases chances of snowfall making inroads to more of the region. I'm hoping we see a few develop over Galloway..

I don't think we'll get any, this happens very often in this type of set up, the showers only hit the south of the region.

Well it's all very marginal...snow/sleet/back to snow. Trouble is everything is soaking wet now. It's very hit and miss- someone in the Midlands at 102m is reporting rain!
