January looks tasty on the long range. December damp and mild but that could change.

Hope for tomorrow night later on.Could I have 2 snow days in November?

Actually a fairly chilly outlook on both models the morn.

Wet, windy and wintry, mainly from the west.

Could be a good period for the ski resorts if milder sectors are muted and transient.

Anyway, FI chart of the day:

To keep generally on topic.

Started out this morning at 10.8C around 8:30am, I wonder what it'll be at the same time tomorrow? Dry start to the day here but rain has just moved in so it's back to 'dreich' again.

Will I see falling snow over the weekend for the second November weekend in a row? If so, I don't expect to see it lie, and certainly not like last Sunday's 7cm.

wasn't expecting such a promising forecast for tonight and this weekend for my location from the MetO. Might be interesting afterall, I wasn't really expecting much falling snow at all let alone any lying snow but the MetO has alternating heavy and light snow forecast for here from 7pm until 3am. Even a wee covering would be welcome. Other snow symbols appearing over the weekend too. Hmmm...

That'll be the cold front arrived then.

Was down near Pitlochry today. 9C, windy and very gloomy at 8, then hammering down by 11.  Drenched!  Then sleet, so assumed the front passed through; more sleety stuff on the way home and it's dry and 1.5C.

Also just looked at latest forecasts and northern hills are due plenty of snow over the next week.  Fun fun fun as guess where I'm working next week  :yahoo:

Oh yeah, those chocolate macaroons the Co-op sell are rather nice. And Eccles Cakes. And the apple crumbly biscuits Ms HC made earlier!

I love the Pitlochry area. If I had the money & the luck! I would move there.

I think it helps to be a bit posh too...

edit - HC puts his foot in it again prolly

Shower passed and left a slushy mess on grass and cars. Maybe catch a few more later. We'll see.

Very light snow flakes falling here also. Probably my last winter in West Lothian so I'm hoping for a good one before I lose my altitude and head back down to the slushfest next winter!
