Temperature currently 2.9C/0.8C. Was supposed to be above that at this time so perhaps the colder air is coming in a bit quicker than expected? Rain has just started to turn a bit sleety too

Morning all,

Cloudy and wet, 3.4c.

Obviously I'm not expecting snow here in Crail but looking forward to seeing photos from elsewhere as the day develops.

Flakes are huge and I would imagine very wet but I would say 10 mins away from going out to play in it...I literally said to kids don't get excited impossible to lie

Temperature has fluctuated between 2.7C and 3.1C for the last couple of hours. The dew point went high which tuned any little sleety bits back to complete rain. But the dew point has started going down in the last 10 minutes and the temp has went from 3.1C to 2.9C in the last 5 minutes. Went extremely dark there, but the cloud look whiter to the north and west and I have noticed in the last half an hour that the rain coming down is blowing in from the north unlike earlier on, so may not be rain for too much longer here.

Actually, looking at the radar, the main band doesn't look as if it has much more time here as it moves northeast

Believe it or not some wet snow now here in Crail. Temp has dropped from 3.7c to 2.6c in the last hour.

Great to see some snow pics going up - keep them coming!

Here's the airmass look, great definition here between the warm tropical and cold PM shot via Clodagh.

The snows piling up in Glencoe, The Mountains will be getting real good dumping.

From Met office Chief Forecaster update via the warnings page , updated within last 15 minutes.

The southern limit of this wintry threat is still not totally pinned down, given that there is a very sharp cut off between the cold air and much milder air in southern Scotland, with the intensity of the precipitation also playing a part - heavy precipitation can more readily turn to snow.

On current evidence, the most likely areas to be affected by the more widespread snow would be Argyll, west Dunbartonshire, Stirlingshire, Clackmannanshire, Fife, Perth & Kinross and Angus.

From late Sunday afternoon onwards, a mix of wintry showers is expected, some heavy and still producing some tricky conditions overnight.
