It's quite appalling how this anti cold bias is creeping into the very fabric of life lately. It's as well we have the MOD thread which takes a far more objective view of the weather that allows readers to assimilate a far more balanced picture.

I can't say I have ever seen that myself.

Jay Wynne is the most common one for that, though I noticed Tomasz Shavehisnecker do the same last night. It is clear though that normally if it's severe weather that's on the cards, there normally isn't a comment on the positivity of mild air, but rather the consequences of said severe weather.

Yeah I've seen it happen when the weather is a bit crap (i.e. a bit of rain and little sunshine), but never when there is genuinely damaging weather on the way.

Heavy snowfall catches Saudis by surprise and joy!

Now you know where the cold has gone - certainly away from the soggy mild UK. :wallbash::angry::D

the tv weather presenters ALWAYS deliver the weather with a smile regardless of the predicted weather - its their job!

suggesting that they have preferences that cloud their delivery is bonkers.

oh... and just in case you coldies didnt realise - i find the vast majority of people i know do not want cold weather! the % on here is not representative of the population as a whole. :p

true to a point, most I know don't either, but most like dry, and mild and dry dosen't often go together, I by miles would prefer dry at 12C to wet at 3C, but would by miles prefer dry and 3C over wet and 12C

They don't want mild wet and windy either. Most people with any semblance of sanity do not want constant grotty wind and rain...then to be told by a smirking weather presenter "at least it's mild"...like as if people are going to think "oh well that's all right then"!

Nonsense.

I still wouldn't give up in the north, I'd by pleased with last few days model runs  if I lived oop norf, especially with elevation, but yes, towel thrown in for low levels south including my location, and from LW252 the ultimate môdern era ist

But history shows the same from just after the… little ice age, it was similar then… as it is now!! So who knows that EPIC WINTER… is just round the corner!! But we've still a chance before winter is done…
