Snowflakes falling also have had ice pellets. It looks like rain but you can tell when it hits a surface that is actually ice.

Similar here. As long as it is frozen water is good for me.

Looks like it's gonna rain here it's a shame but I'm just surrounded by slush now and if that freezes it will be an ice rink

There will be no ice as temperatures will stay above 0c again tonight.

It was nice to see some people sledging using the top off a recycling box as they probably didn't dare buy a sledge

Very chuffed with last night with the snow cover, there has been a gradual thaw from mid day with not much snow left. Temps have been close to 3C today so no surprise to see a thaw. As others have said we needed clear skies last night after the snow and I bet there would have been an ice day despite blue skies. The sun isn't really gaining much strength yet until mid-late Feb to effect snow on the ground so with an ice day there wouldn't have been much of a thaw if any. Probably only roofs but that's mainly peoples heating/poor loft insulation.

Snowing here, looks good but has a very wet consistency.  Sometimes the larger the flakes the more on a knife edge the marginals are.

Big flakes and plenty of them covering the gaps

Looking at the radar, we've just caught the northern edge of a clump of showers and it looks like a clearance is about to arrive.

quite heavy while it lasted though and covered the car I cleared earlier.

After what we've had so far this winter, its nice to see that the conditions for snow are still possible as I was starting to think that we'd not see it again.

We've had a bit of light snow on and off this afternoon, on occasion large fluffy flakes, then much finer sleetier texture, never heavy and barely enough to dust some surfaces, but nice to see. Conditions are quite marginal, should we see a more organised band of precipitation of moderate nature, we could see a slight fresh cover overnight, but I'm not expecting much..

Tomorrow will see a thaw of sorts, but with cloud cover and temps around 2 degrees here, most surfaces currently covered should maintain their cover. Projected frosts Mon, Tues and possibly Wed night and maxima struggling to hit 2-3 degrees should ensure at least 3 possibly 4 more mornings with snow cover.

Good to see lots of people out and about enjoying the snow, always a bonus when snow falls on a Friday eve or a Saturday.

Lake District looks resplendent in its white cloak, Tuesday and Wed promise to be excellent days for winter walking, with light winds, blue sky and freezing temps.

No ppn here so far today, temp hovering around 1c so snow still hanging on on some surfaces,  probably won't get to 0c or below overnight with all the cloud but if it did then there would be major ice problems and some pavements are already very slippery.

drizzle on and off all day here. There was actually a slight dusting of snow in central areas, but none in Heswall and wasn't icy.. currently 2.2C with a dewpoint of 2C foggy. Yet to see snow this winter.

Just seen the BBC forecast... How on earth will temps drop to -5c overnight with overcast skies and rain/sleet etc

maybe they expect localised breaks to occur. That said, it's not going to get below 0C in many places that aren't already.

sorry SZ I just accidentally edited your post with my comment, then rectified it.. Im always doing that lol.
