Cloud quite thin atm can see the moon, 0.7c. PPN making painfully slow progress, may be wintry when it arrives.

Had some snow here during the day and some snizzle, managed a walk up towards Winter Hill today some lovely winter scenes.

Not expecting anything here in Reddish even if some precip does reach us, temp risen to 2.5°C. Back home it's around freezing.

I have a feeling later this month/early Feb will deliver again but this time the main course, and for people in our region who haven't seen snow cover yet too. Tentative signs at the moment with the models

2.7c, DP 1.8c with drizzle & snow melted... Hopefully some hard frosts to come before the milder air moves in at the end of the week.

Wouldn't say it felt milder here but less cold yes, temp 3.8c now and dry but still overcast.

The weather front in the borders with Scotland seems to have quite a bit of energy left to it. According to the 6z GFS it will slowly move into Cumbria and the north Pennines over the next 24 hours. Weakening as it does so but could give snow on areas with elevetion. The 0z GFS had hardly any precipitation for the northern parts of our region so I think the 6z may be picking on the fact that the front has more energy left than originally thought.

The cloud is thinning nicely here now and hopefully the breeze will drop by tonight to give us a series of frosty nights.

Just the odd small patch of snow left now but fading fast! :( Still mainly overcast and a current temp of 3.8c after a high of 6.3c earlier. Bet it stays cloudy for the next few days with no chance of a frost then the milder air makes inroads...

One good thing about having no snow is that you're not gutted when it all melts.

Temp falling quite sharply under some cloud breaks, 1.9c now. Hope all the cloud buggers off so I get a frost!

Snow mostly gone, clinging on to some surfaces, happier when it goes very quickly rather than a slow messy thaw.. A drab raw sort of mid winters day, bits of drizzle this evening temps hovering around 2-3 degrees, so yes a cold one, but no frost likely.

Wed eve looks the coldest night of the week. Weekend at this range isn't looking particularly inspiring - glad I made the most of the weekend just gone, but I'm hopeful of better fortunes longer term with winter wonderland conditions holding sway..

Wish the cloud would do one!! Temp gone back up a bit to 2.7c, it would be sub zero & frosty by now if it was clear....
