Yet again the min  last night was 1.8°C. This is the third night in a row that it has been this. I don't think I have ever recorded three consecutive nights with the  same minimum before.

Briefly milder Tuesday with some heavy rain, then turning colder

Again with heavy wintry showers, end of the week further rain/sleet

And snow for the region, this taken from the meto outlook this

Morning certainly no early spring warmth from that update

Dry spell over... normal service resumes next week.  A more mobile pattern with I'm sure lots of cold rain and winds in abundance.

A rapid temperature drop this evening after a sunny day. Max was  8.0°C, currently 1.1°C,  already colder than the lowest temperature during the last three nights. -2.6°C is the  figure to set a late record for the winters coldest temperature.

Frosty morning with a lovely sunrise sky. My father in Donegal, Ireland has just rang to say he has snow.

Min was -1.1°C. A stupidly fast temperature rise after nautical Dawn, already  above freezing.

Perfect timing for the clouds to invade, exactly before sunrise, to conserve the cold.  You couldn't make it up. Apart from being dry, this 5C cloudy crap is not my favourite type of weather.  :nea::angry:

More sleet symbols showing on the BBC for my area, through mid to end of week but I fear for the majority of us, away from the summit peaks, it will mostly be cold rain.  Felt cold today but should be milder tomorrow, before returning back to cold from Wednesday onward.  No indication of spring warmth just yet.

Blimey it's cold today! Southerly winds gusting near 40mph with a temp of 4.0c, feels raw. Damp this afternoon with intermittent drizzle.

I think crewe is right, places above 150m could get quite a bit of snow on the ground (but short lived in nature) this week. French Arpege model going for snow cover on the high ground on Wednesday morning. Though these snow maps are rarely 100% accurate.

they'll be loading them for when the risk of snow has passed.

i wouldn't expect them to go out if the roads are bad, might damage the paintwork.

seriously though, high ground may see some snow overnight and we could possibly wake up to a covering but my  thoughts are more towards the days that follow as colder, showery conditions move back in and from a direction that favours the region more than most other ones would.

even in a winter of almost constant let downs, I'd expect something on the ground by weekend.

In this part of the woods it just means they've got plenty of stock to get rid off and will even grit when there isn't a frost forecast. In November and December it's a different story grit only used sparingly even when frost and snow is forecast.
