Good evening folks,

As we have a very lively 5 year old grandson staying with us this week, we decided to take him down to "Sarf end" for the day. Not only was it dull and drizzly for much of the time (it only just started to brighten up as we got into the car to leave) but it was windy and felt bitterly cold. In fact I felt a lot colder than I did for most of the winter. I was glad to arrive home for a warm up.

Paul if you are reading this do you know what the temperature was at midday today?

Kind Regards

Dave

Beautiful clear, sunny start to the day, but the overnight temp got down to 2C so a grass frost this morning. Nice satellite image this morning showing Low Pressure over the Mediterranean and the next front bringing rain to the UK (and us tonight / Sat morning) moving into Ireland.

Anyone else getting fed up with the lingering Spring cold and starting to dream about getting some real warmth into the UK? This morning's GFS run seems typical - just when you see the +10C 850 isotherm approaching the south of the UK.... it gets swept away by another cold plunge!

Hi Blessed,

I actually dont think its that bad, this week has been so much better than I expected. Yes a few heavy showers (if you can call them that) with 1 crack of thunder (no its not a supercell) lol.. But its felt very pleasant when the sun comes out and certainly no wash out. Take tonight and tomorrow morning - A weakening weather front pushing rain across the region that will be gone by Saturday afternoon to leave decent sunny spells and Sunday looks fairly good if you get yourself out of the shade

That chart is 13 days away.. it will change.. for good or for bad

Been a nice day today, started clear, cloud bubbling now though.

That cloud that was bubbling cleared of about an hour or so later, and today has felt lovely and warm in a mostly clear sky.

A few showers floating around during the late afternoon, even saw a flash of lightning again. It hasn't felt too bad considering the winds were light.

Looking at the rainfall radar sequence, the rain seems to have pepped up a bit in the last couple of hours. Just had a heavier burst here, although as I write it's back to spits and spots. I'm hoping that this afternoon we'll see some of those beefy showers currently building out to the west. I fancy a hail shower!  :)

Very nice day here after the early cloud moved east. Feels quite warm in the sun despite a cool 11C.

Sunshine didn't last long! Showers yet again, hopefully tomorrow will be dry. Need to tidy up the garden.

Who do I complain to?!! The front seems to have completely stalled and has hardly budged in 6 hours giving a miserable day for much of our Region. :(

Playing "spot the difference" shows only that the front has continued to pep up:

Been pretty drab here most of the day! Raining on and off and still an annoying chilly feel with the breeze!

Quite pleasant in the early afternoon, sunny reaching 13.8C before the front slowly came.

A lovely sunny start to the day here with blue skies and hardly a cloud. Light winds at the moment and chilly, temperature just 2C with a grass frost. Fingers crossed for a nice day!

A clear and frosty start to the day here. Looks like a good one for once though cloud will increase throughout the day.

Rain all day yesterday here, till about 5: 00, then it stayed cloudy till dusk, followed by quite a clear night. Today has been quite sunny but it is shining through some thin cloud.

It's not been quite the day I thought it would be. It started off clear and sunny after an overnight low of 0.5C and an early morning ground frost. By late morning the cloud had really built up, so very little sun. But then the high cirrus moved in and the morning cumulus died away to give hazy sunshine to start the afternoon. Now the the cloud has thickened enough to make the sky a uniform grey. And the fairly stiff SE'ly breeze has made it feel very cool today with a high of only 10.4C here. Come on - where's the first Spanish plume - we need you soon please!! :)

Maybe the weather is going to revert back to pre-2007 standards and storms will make it across the Channel intact??

Yep, most of it has died out. On the storm and convective discussion, people are disappointed, like it was a surprise it died out! Some heavy-ish rain heading towards here.

Good sunny spells here until late afternoon, unlike Blessed weather the fair weather cloud never built up enough to spoil the day here, so a good day overall until the high cloud thickened up properly.
