Can still see the occasional flash here, some seem fairly bright. Is that from the north or is something else coming up?

Some pretty heavy rain here but not much else to be honest, best of luck to all those in the firing line for something more active.

Give it 45 minutes or so - the section of trough heading our way is getting very active in terms of sferics.

Typical. Every time I turn away or step away from the window, a nice strike happens. Lights flickered, I watch a cluster of 4-5 strikes shows on lightningmaps.org and then comes the big crack of thunder. Certainly shows the maps are working! And upon checking the map, I am quite glad I wasn't outside at my usual viewpoint, because that was exactly next to the cluster of lightning... heavy rain here, with thunder intermittent. Rain increasing now.

Well that's what I've been thinking - but, so far, there's not been so much as a flicker?:shok:

Oh dear Ed. Looks like the storm line is splitting and the Beccles Storm Gap phenomenon is happening!

Quite a nice show of lightning as this slowly heads northwards in Suffolk now. Feels like a summer storm, tbh

Good show last night for many I was a tad to far West for anything other than a drop of rain

Certainly a lot more active than forcast which was a bonus too!

On to today and while there will be a few showers I don't think it's our regions turn in the way of thunder with the greatest risk further West and North.

Glad to hear you got something!  We had a fairly close strike (2-3 miles away) which produced loud, though not quite booming, thunder, and several less proximal strikes from that trough.

I would've been on the forum last night discussing the situation if I had remembered my password...
As Surrey said, we were just a bit to far west for anything. And today we seem to be to far east for anything apart from a few light showers. Sun trying to come out, but not succeeding...
