Plenty of convection around here at the moment.

Will it, wont it.

A few big drops of rain around here and dark skies to my north and east...

Let's see what happens next.

It's still very clear out west. Huge CBs out east.

It's weird, that line out east was forecast to be slightly further west but at present it's just not moving. I'll call it a day towards 6 if there's no headway.

As I say this, something has developed just N of Northwhich.

I presume you're wanting it to move West? It's moving East at the moment..

Something definitely developing to the N of here, can see through the haze quite a well defined structure developing, probably that radar return over Northwhich. Hopefully it should have some decent energy to tap in to and shouldn't be impeded by the stuff to the east.

I don't need a storm here as I saw enough yesterday but the air does, it is so warm and muggy here.

From watching the cells that were between Macclesfield and Stoke earlier it appears they are moving very gradually eastwards rather than westwards. The heavy showers that were near Leek about 2 hours ago are now approaching Ashbourne as drizzly rain.

Looks like it's clearing here from the NW.
