I can confirm that it has gone very dark here in Croydon with constant rumbling, but no rain yet. Certainly feels on the verge of something big, or will it be like the build up to a sneeze that never quite delivers?

...and really not moving very far very quickly. Would not be surprised to read reports of flash flooding and possible disruption due to lightning strikes. Can see the flashes from here but frustratingly struggling to get closer. With no open-able windows, not been possible to hear any thunder thus far.

Yep, that cell looks very active. Its heading straight toward me at the moment. I can see fresh strikes towards the rear as well. Does this indicate a MCS I wonder?

Very unlikely an MCS, more a collection of multiple cells.

I am hoping that their merging together (as they seem to be doing on the radar) doesn't disrupt the updraughts to the extent it chokes off electrical activity.

Happy for you :) Your storm drought has been ended.

The storms between Barnard Castle and Brough have developed significantly in the past few hours

Better off on Harrow On The Hill, less likely to get jumped, although the trees do increase your risk of getting struck by lightning.

Haha you know it!! Loving your location btw.

Can see stuff all from the roof here in Watford apart from milky sky but it is getting a little darker. Incredibly humid and according to building information 25c outside.

Finally, lightning, a massive thunder crack and rain. We have lift off. Feels amazing out there:)

I'm told there is some flash flooding in Coulsdon with my weather station taking less than a minute from the rain starting to it reporting that it is "raining cats and dogs" .

might have to go and get a reinforced brolly!

This more than makes up for my drought and there's more heading this way ! Oddly though I've hardly seen any lightning but the thunder is almost constant at the moment !

I'm impressed! I finally see a storm in London ;)

There are a couple of CG's out to my NE and plenty of rumbles, looks to be a pearler!

Still surprised that contrary to the Euro4, there's still nothing in development across the Peak District yet, other than a small electrical cell towards Burnley.

Just managed to get the radar working. Your band which is showing up as red, is passing to the west of me and missing me, then there are more passing through central London and missing me and another batch hitting east London and missing me.
